He thanked LSI Logic Corp. for hosting the meeting. As usual, the people present introduced themselves. 2. Approval of Agenda The draft agenda was approved with no changes. Zone Management 4.1 SAS-2 Registered Zone Management Client (06-286r5) [Symons] Tim Symons presented a proposal to apply two-phase commit semantics to changing zoning configurations (06-286r3). The group discussed the error recovery aspects of the proposal and requested several changes. The group expressed a strong desire to add a model section to the proposal and Tim agreed to do so. In addition, Tim noted numerous changes and agreed to prepare a new revision for consideration at the next meeting. 4.2 SAS-2 Allow More Than One ZPSDS in a SAS Domain (06-279r3) [Elliott] Rob Elliott presented a proposal to allow more than one ZPSDS in a SAS Domain (06-279r2). The group asked that certain black lines be changed to a different color to indicate that they represent out-of-band data transmission methods. Rob agreed to prepare a new revision of the proposal. Rob Elliott moved that 06-279r3 (r2 as modified) be recommended for inclusion in SAS-2. Kevin Marks seconded the motion. In the absence of any objections, the motion passed unanimously. 4.3 SAS-2 Enable and Disable Zoning (06-281r3) [Elliott] Rob Elliott presented a proposal to define mechanisms for enabling and disabling zoning (06-281r2). The group requested minor changes and Rob agreed to prepare a new revision. Rob Elliott moved that 06-281r3 (r2 as modified) be recommended for inclusion in SAS-2. Kevin Marks seconded the motion. In the absence of any objections, the motion passed unanimously. 4.4 SAS-2: Reporting ZONE PARTICIPATING CAPABLE in the IDENTIFY address frame (06-210r4) [Marks] The SAS Protocol working group (minutes in 06-316r0) completed processing on this proposal earlier in the week. 5. SMP function topics 5.1 SAS-2 SMP CONFIGURE PHY ZONE function (06-201r6) [Symons] Tim Symons presented a proposal to define the SMP function used to configure the zoning properties of an expander Phy (06-201r4). Tim noted several corrections and enhancements for incorporation in the next revision of the proposal which he promised to have ready for discussion at the next meeting. 5.2 SAS-2 Expander Route Table (CONFIGURE EXPANDER ROUTE TABLE) (06-214r1) [Johnson] Tim Hoglund asked that discussion of this topic be deferred to the next meeting. 5.3 SAS-2 SMP REPORT ZONE PERMISSION function (06-203r6) [Symons] Tim Symons presented a proposal that defined an SMP function for returning zone permission table information (06-203r4). The group discussed how best to report errors in which the number of descriptors present in the frame disagreed with a list size value. Tim agreed to prepare a new revision of the proposal for consideration at the next meeting. 5.4 SAS-2 SMP CONFIGURE ZONE PERMISSION function (06-202r9) [Symons] Tim Symons presented a proposal to define an SMP function that configures the zone permission table (06-202r5). Several suggestions were made to improve the proposal. The group also discussed how best to represent the desired zone permission table information in the SMP request frame. Tim promised a revised proposal for consideration at the next meeting. 5.5 SAS-2 SMP ACTIVATE ZONE PERMISSION UPDATE functions (06-288r6) [Symons] Tim Symons presented a proposal to define the activation of 'shadow' zoning data (06-288r3). Numerous issues were discussed and Tim noted several changes for inclusion in a new revision of the proposal for consideration at the next meeting. 5.6 SAS-2 SMP Zone Lock Release (06-289r6) [Symons] Tim Symons presented a proposal to define the SMP Zone Lock Release SMP function (06-289r3). The group noted that the decisions reached during the discussion of 06-286r5 (see agenda item 4.1) would require merging this document with that one. Tim agreed to prepare a new revision of this proposal and/or 06-286r5 for consideration at the next meeting. 5.7 SAS-2 SMP Zone Lock Timer (06-326r2) [Symons] Tim Symons presented a proposal to define a lock timeout timer (06-326r0). The group discussed how to set the timeout value and how to use it. Tim collected notes for how to improve the proposal in its next revision. 6.
